Borusan Asım Kocabıyık Vocational and Technical High School

In Turkish educational system, compulsory education lasts 12 year, 4 year for primary education, 4 year for secondary education and the last 4 year for high school. 

In first year of high school there are same lessons in every high school, no differences for vocational high school or general high school.

9th grade students don’ t have any vocational lessons. They just have cultural lessons like math, history, literature,... At the end of 9th grade, students decide which department they choose and study on.

Our school starts at 8:30 am to 17 pm. We generally have 8 or 10  hours of lessons in each weekday.

 If a student decides to study on a vocational department, 10 th grade vocational lessons are the same in each department. Each department has fields for expertise.  For example Informational Technologies department in our school has two field, one of them is Database Programming, the other one is Web Programming.  

11th grade vocational lessons are different according to their fields. Each field has vocational lessons to expertise students on their fields. 

In vocational programs, 12th grade students have internship in school semester, they study on a company related to their occupation on 2 day per week. 

In technical programs students have summer internship for 40 work-days.

Our school has a long tradition of preparing students not only to study their vocational departments for university, but also in other fields of higher education.
